We are hiring in the United Kingdom. One open role for now. If nothing here fits, you can still write to careers@karego.ai — we keep strong people in mind.
Social Media Content Manager & Creator
Location: United Kingdom (remote within the UK) · Type: Full-time · Reports to: Founder
Karego needs someone who can turn a serious product into clear, calm, and distinctive content across social channels — without sounding like a wellness brand, a hospital leaflet, or an AI startup that discovered adjectives.
You will own our social presence end to end: strategy, creation, publishing, and iteration. You write, shoot, edit, caption, and decide what not to post. You understand that health is intimate, that trust is fragile, and that cleverness is not the same as clarity.
What you will do
- Own Karego’s presence on the channels that matter for us — today that means Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X, with room to choose where the work actually earns attention.
- Create original content: short-form video, carousels, stills, captions, threads, and the occasional longer piece when a topic needs more than fifteen seconds.
- Build and run a content calendar that balances product education, trust and privacy themes, clinical plain-language explainers, and brand personality — without becoming noise.
- Write in a voice that matches how we talk on the site: plain, direct, adult. No hype, no false urgency, no “revolutionising healthcare”.
- Collaborate with the product and founding team so posts are accurate. Medical and privacy claims get checked before they go live.
- Track what works in a lightweight way. Report honestly. Kill formats that underperform rather than dressing them up.
- Help with light community replies and comments where a human answer is better than silence — escalate anything clinical or sensitive.
Who you are
- Based in the United Kingdom, with the right to work here.
- A strong writer first. If the caption is weak, the video will not save it.
- Comfortable creating and editing short-form video yourself — phone or camera, CapCut, Premiere, or equivalent. You do not need a crew to ship.
- Experienced running social for a brand or product people care about — ideally health, consumer tech, fintech, or another trust-sensitive category.
- Able to explain complex ideas simply. Karego covers encryption, medical records, and AI; your job is to make that readable without dumbing it down.
- Self-directed. We are a small company. There is no content committee and no brand guidelines binder thicker than the product.
- Someone who would rather delete a draft than post something that sounds like every other app in the App Store.
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated or sensitive categories (health, finance, insurance, public sector).
- Basic motion design or design sense in Figma / Canva used with restraint.
- An interest in accessibility — captions, contrast, and content that works with assistive tech.
- A portfolio that shows range: educational content, brand storytelling, and posts that earned attention without gimmicks.
What we offer
- Competitive UK salary, discussed early — we will not waste your time with a vague band after three interviews.
- Remote work within the UK, with occasional in-person days if and when the team is in the same city.
- Direct access to the people building the product. Your work shapes how Karego is understood in public.
- A company that publishes its privacy, security, and trust positions in plain language — and expects marketing to stay consistent with them.
- Equipment budget for the tools you need to create properly.
How to apply
Email careers@karego.ai with the subject line Social Media — your name.
Include:
- A short note on why this role, and why Karego — a few paragraphs is enough.
- Your CV or LinkedIn.
- Links to work you are proud of (portfolio, channels you ran, or specific posts). Tell us what was yours.
- Optional but welcome: one idea for a short-form piece that explains why Karego does not use external AI providers — in our voice, not pitch-deck voice.
We read every application. We reply to everyone we interview, and we aim to reply to serious applications within 10 business days.
Equal opportunity
Karego is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on ability, craft, and judgement. We welcome applications from people of every background, and from people living with disability or chronic illness — the people our product is built for.
If you need an adjustment to the application or interview process, say so when you write. We will accommodate it.
