Cookies Policy

karego.ai uses strictly necessary cookies to make the website work, and optional analytics cookies — only if you consent — so we can understand how the site is used.

Effective 1 August 2026 · Last updated 3 August 2026 · Version 1.1

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. Analytics cookies are optional. We ask before setting them, and the site works fully if you say no. Your health records are never involved.

The short version

  • Necessary cookies keep the site working — session, security and remembering your cookie choice.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) measure which pages are visited, in aggregate. They load only after you accept analytics in the consent banner.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies. We have no advertising business.
  • No social media pixels. No Meta, LinkedIn or TikTok tracking on this site.
  • Nothing here touches your health data. Analytics on karego.ai is separate from the KareGO app and your medical records.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Cookies have a bad reputation, largely deserved, because most websites use them to follow visitors across the internet and build advertising profiles.

They also have a legitimate function: remembering that you are signed in, protecting a form submission from being forged, storing a preference, and — where you agree — measuring how a site is used so it can be improved.

This policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage, which work differently in technical terms but serve the same purposes.

2. What we use, and why

Strictly necessary

These are required for the website to function correctly. They do not require consent.

Analytics (optional)

If you accept analytics, we load Google Analytics (measurement ID `G-586HHFC83K`), operated by Google LLC. It helps us see which pages are visited and whether the site is working as intended.

Optional analytics cookies used on karego.ai

  • Purpose
    Google Analytics
    What it does
Aggregated statistics about page views, traffic sources and basic device/browser information
    How long it lasts
Up to 24 months (Google-set cookies such as `_ga`)

Analytics cookies are not used to sell your data, show you ads, or build a health profile. They are not linked to your KareGO medical records. If you reject analytics, the tag is not loaded.

3. What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies. We have no advertising business, so we have nothing to retarget you for.
  • No social media pixels. No Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no TikTok pixel.
  • No data broker or enrichment scripts.
  • No tracking in our emails. The KareGO Letter and our transactional emails contain no tracking pixels.

4. The KareGO app

The mobile app does not use website cookies. It stores information locally on your device to keep you signed in — an authentication token and your app settings — which is the app equivalent of a session cookie.

This local data is removed when you sign out or delete the app. Website analytics on karego.ai do not apply inside the app.

Note that our crash reporting provider collects technical diagnostic identifiers when the app fails, and that our place-search feature contacts Google when you use it. Neither is a cookie, and both are described in full on our Data Protection page.

5. Controlling cookies

You can accept or reject analytics in the consent banner when you first visit, and change that choice later. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working, in particular signing in. Rejecting analytics does not affect how the site works.

Browser instructions:

  • Safari — Settings → Privacy
  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security
  • Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions

6. If this changes

If we introduce a new cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will:

  1. Ask for your consent before setting it, through a clear choice where refusing is exactly as easy as accepting;
  2. Update this page to describe what it does and how long it lasts;
  3. Continue to make the site fully usable if you say no.

We will not use a pre-ticked box, a hidden "reject" option, a banner that reappears until you give in, or any other pattern designed to manufacture consent.
