Terms of Service

This is a contract between you and us. We have written it to be understood rather than to be impressive, and we have not hidden anything important in the middle.

Effective 1 August 2026 · Last updated 16 October 2026 · Version 1.1

Read this first. The five things that matter most before you use KareGO.

The short version

  • KareGO is not a doctor and does not give medical advice. It organises your health information and explains it in plain language. It does not diagnose, does not treat, and must never be used to decide whether to seek care. In an emergency, call your local emergency number: 911 in the US, 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK.
  • Our AI can be wrong. It reads documents, summarises them and answers questions, and it makes mistakes. Everything it produces must be checked with a qualified healthcare professional before you act on it.
  • Your data is yours. You own everything you put into KareGO. We hold it for you. We do not sell it, and we do not advertise against it.
  • Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. They renew automatically until you cancel, and you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
  • You can leave whenever you want, take your data with you, and delete everything permanently.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use KareGO.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between:

Lumivant LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Suite 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States of America ("KareGO", "we", "us", "our")

and you, the individual using the KareGO application.

Contact: support@karego.ai

By creating an account or using KareGO, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. Who may use KareGO

2.1 Age

You must be 18 or over. KareGO is not designed or permitted for use by anyone under 18.

2.2 Where

KareGO is offered to users in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Some features are only available in some regions; for example, connecting records from US health insurers and providers, and KareInsurance, are only available for US health records.

2.3 Your own records only

KareGO is designed for you to manage your own health information. You must not create an account on behalf of another person, and you must not upload another person's medical records to your account. The app checks the patient name on uploaded documents against your profile for this reason. When you connect a health insurer, provider or health information exchange, connect only accounts that belong to you. If your insurer returns records for other people on your plan, such as a spouse or children, KareGO keeps only your own records and discards the rest.

3. What KareGO is — and what it is not

3.1 What it is

KareGO is a personal health record and information tool. It lets you store, organise and understand your own medical information: documents, test results, medications, vaccinations, vital signs and medical history. It provides an AI assistant that answers questions using the records in your account, generates plain-language summaries, produces a Medical ID card, and sends reminders about screenings, vaccinations and medications.

If you are in the United States, KareGO can also import your records from your health insurer, your doctors' and hospitals' record systems and the national health information exchange, and can show you your health plan, claims and what your plan's published rules say about coverage.

3.2 What it is not

KareGO does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional and does not create a doctor–patient relationship of any kind.

Specifically, KareGO does not and will not:

  • diagnose any condition;
  • recommend, prescribe or adjust any medication or dosage;
  • tell you whether to seek or avoid medical care;
  • monitor your health in real time or alert anyone if something is wrong;
  • act as an emergency service or notify emergency services on your behalf.

3.3 Emergencies

KareGO must never be relied on in a medical emergency. It does not monitor you, does not detect emergencies, and cannot summon help. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately: 911 in the United States, 112 in the European Union, 999 in the United Kingdom.

The Medical ID card is designed to help responders once help has arrived. It does not call for help.

3.4 Reminders are not clinical advice

Screening, vaccination and medication reminders are general prompts based on information you have entered and on published guidance for broad demographic groups. They are not personalised medical recommendations, they may not reflect your circumstances, and they may be wrong, late or missing. Do not rely on KareGO to remember your healthcare for you. Missing a reminder is not a basis for any claim against us.

4. Connected health records

4.1 How it works

If you choose to connect a health insurer, provider or the national health information exchange, KareGO uses Flexpa (Flexpa USA Inc.) to retrieve your records at your request. You sign in with that organisation or verify your identity with CLEAR, ID.me or Persona; KareGO never sees your password for those services. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.

4.2 Imported records may be incomplete or out of date

Records come from your insurer and providers as they hold them. They can be missing information, contain errors, or be delayed; insurance claims often appear 5 to 30 days after a visit. KareGO does not verify imported records. Check anything important with your healthcare provider or insurer.

4.3 Updates

While connected, KareGO refreshes your records about once a month.

4.4 Disconnecting

You can disconnect any source at any time in the app. Disconnecting stops future updates. Records already imported stay in your account until you delete them or delete your account, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. KareInsurance and your health plan

KareInsurance explains what your health plan's published rules say about a service, quotes the policy text it relied on, and estimates costs from the plan details you provide or import. It does not make coverage decisions; your plan does. It does not check whether your plan is active on a given date, how much of your deductible you have already paid, or whether a prior authorisation has been requested or approved. Answers may be incomplete or out of date, and many insurers and services are not yet covered. Always confirm coverage with your insurer before receiving care. KareGO is not liable for coverage, payment or claim decisions made by your insurer.

6. Artificial intelligence

6.1 It makes mistakes

KareGO uses AI models to read documents, recognise medication packaging, transcribe recordings, structure test results and answer your questions. These systems produce output that can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or entirely wrong, and they can be confidently wrong in ways that are hard to spot.

Common failure modes you should expect: misreading a number in a scanned document, mistranscribing a drug name, missing a value entirely, or giving a general explanation that does not apply to your situation.

6.2 Verify before acting

You must verify anything the AI produces with a qualified healthcare professional before acting on it. This applies to summaries, extracted test values, medication details recognised from photographs, transcripts, and every answer the assistant gives.

Never change, stop or start a medication, skip an appointment, or make any healthcare decision on the basis of KareGO output alone.

6.3 Where the AI runs

Our models run on our own servers. Your data is not sent to any external AI provider. This is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.

7. Your account

7.1 Keeping it secure

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and your device secure. Use a strong, unique password. Enable your device lock. Anyone with access to your unlocked device or your password can see your complete medical history.

Tell us immediately at security@karego.ai if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

7.2 Accuracy

KareGO is only as good as what you put into it. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. Incorrect allergies, medications or conditions in your profile will produce incorrect summaries, incorrect Medical ID card content and incorrect AI answers — with real-world consequences if a clinician relies on them.

Review your Medical ID card regularly and keep it current. Records imported from insurers and providers are shown as they were received. You can correct or delete them in the app.

8. Sharing features and your responsibilities

8.1 The Medical ID card public link

You can generate a link that lets anyone who has it view your Medical ID card, including allergies, conditions, medications and emergency contacts.

Anyone with the link can see it. There is no password. If you post it publicly, message it to the wrong person, or it is forwarded onward, that information is exposed. You can revoke the link at any time in the app, but you cannot recall what has already been seen or saved.

You are responsible for how you share this link and what happens to it.

8.2 Recording consultations

KareGO lets you record and transcribe conversations, including with healthcare professionals.

Recording another person may require their consent, and in some countries it is a criminal offence to record without it. The law varies significantly across the UK and EU member states, and many clinicians and hospitals have their own policies.

You are solely responsible for:

  • obtaining any consent required before recording;
  • complying with the law where you are;
  • respecting the privacy of everyone captured in a recording.

We provide the tool. We do not provide legal permission to use it, and we cannot advise you on the law in your country.

8.3 Exported material

Anything you export, print or share leaves KareGO's protection and becomes entirely your responsibility.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • upload another person's medical records to your account;
  • use KareGO to provide medical services to anyone else;
  • attempt to access another user's account or data;
  • probe, scan or test the security of our systems other than through responsible disclosure to security@karego.ai;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract our AI models or source code;
  • use automated systems to scrape or bulk-extract data from the service;
  • upload malicious code, or content that is unlawful;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute the service;
  • misrepresent your identity or your age.

If you breach these terms in a way that is serious, or repeatedly after we have asked you to stop, we may suspend or close your account. Where we do, we will tell you why and give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data first, unless we are legally prevented from doing so or the breach involves harm to other users.

10. Subscriptions and payment

10.1 Apple or Google bills you, not us

On iPhone, Apple is the merchant of record through the App Store. On Android, Google is the merchant of record through Google Play. This means:

  • Apple or Google takes the payment;
  • we never see or hold your payment card details;
  • Apple or Google handles sales tax or VAT;
  • your purchase is also subject to their terms.

10.2 Automatic renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Apple or Google charges the renewal to your App Store or Google Play account within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Current prices and periods are shown in the App Store before you purchase and are confirmed by Apple or Google at the point of sale.

10.3 How to cancel

Cancel in your App Store (Apple ID) settings or in Google Play subscriptions, not in the KareGO app and not by emailing us. We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.

You must cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

10.4 Free trials

Where a subscription includes a free trial, it converts into a paid subscription automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. If you buy a subscription during a trial, the unused part of the trial is forfeited.

10.5 Price changes

If we change the price, Apple or Google will notify you and, where required, ask you to consent before the new price takes effect. If you do not agree, cancel before the next renewal.

10.6 What happens if you stop paying

If your subscription lapses, your account and data are not deleted. Paid features become unavailable, but you retain access to your records and can export or delete them. We do not hold your medical history hostage to a payment.

10.7 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, and your statutory cancellation rights are set out in our Refund Policy. We are not able to issue refunds directly for App Store or Google Play purchases.

11. Who owns what

11.1 Your data is yours

You own all the health information, documents, recordings and content you put into KareGO. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of it to us.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display your content, and to retrieve records from insurers and providers you choose to connect, solely in order to provide the service to you — for example, to generate summaries, run the AI assistant on your records, and produce your Medical ID card.

This licence:

  • is limited to operating KareGO for you;
  • does not permit us to use your content for any other purpose;
  • specifically excludes advertising, sale, and disclosure to third parties;
  • ends when you delete the content or your account.

11.2 KareGO is ours

The KareGO application, our AI models, our website, our content, design, trade marks and name belong to us. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own health information for as long as these terms apply. Nothing more is granted.

11.3 Feedback

If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely without obligation or payment. We will never publish or quote anything about your health without your express permission.

12. Availability

We aim to keep KareGO running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or because of failures affecting our providers, Apple, Google, Flexpa, your insurer or provider, or your network.

KareGO depends on your device. If you lose or damage your device, your data remains on our servers and is available when you sign in again.

We may change, add or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance and, if you are on a paid subscription, you may cancel and seek a proportionate refund through Apple.

13. Our responsibility to you

13.1 What we do not limit

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

These carve-outs are important and we state them first deliberately.

13.2 What we do limit

Subject to section 13.1, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable at the time you entered into these terms.
  • We are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on AI output, summaries, extracted values or reminders without professional verification, as required by section 3 and section 6.
  • We are not liable for loss arising from inaccurate information you entered yourself.
  • We are not liable for errors or omissions in records imported from your insurer or providers, or for coverage, payment or claim decisions made by your insurer.
  • We are not liable for loss arising from how you share your Medical ID card link, or from recordings you made without required consent.
  • We are not liable for business losses, since KareGO is provided for personal use.
  • Where liability can be limited, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for KareGO in that period.

13.3 Your legal rights remain

You have statutory rights as a consumer that these terms do not affect. If we provide the service without reasonable care and skill, you are entitled to remedies under the consumer protection law that applies where you live, including the laws of your US state, whatever this section says.

14. Ending the agreement

14.1 You

You may stop using KareGO at any time. Delete your account in the app and your data is removed from our live systems immediately and from backups within seven days, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Cancelling a subscription and deleting your account are separate actions. Cancel the subscription through Apple or Google; delete the account in the app.

14.2 Us

We may close your account if you seriously breach these terms, or if we are legally required to. We may also discontinue KareGO entirely — in which case we will give you at least 90 days' notice, provide a full export of your data, and refund any unused portion of a paid subscription.

Ninety days is longer than the law requires. Your medical history should never disappear because a company changed its plans.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. When a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you in the app and by email before it takes effect, explain what changed and why, and give you the opportunity to cancel if you do not accept it.

We will not make material changes silently, and we will not treat continued use as agreement to something we did not tell you about. Previous versions remain available on karego.ai.

16. Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us. It explains where your data is stored, who processes it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

17. Law and disputes

17.1 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.

If you live in the United States, nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your state that cannot be waived.

However, if you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Where those laws give you stronger rights, those rights apply.

17.2 Where you can bring a claim

If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and we may bring proceedings against you only in those courts. If you live in the United States, you may bring a claim in the courts of your state of residence or in Wyoming.

17.3 Talk to us first

Most problems can be solved by email. Write to support@karego.ai and we will try to resolve it. You are not required to do this before exercising your legal rights, and doing so does not affect them.

17.4 Alternative dispute resolution

You may be entitled to use an alternative dispute resolution or consumer mediation scheme in your country. Your national consumer authority can tell you which schemes are available.

18. General

  • Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term immediately, we do not lose the right to enforce it later.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if KareGO is acquired, and if we do, the acquirer remains bound by these terms and by our commitment never to sell your health data.
  • Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about KareGO.
  • Third parties. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you in relation to your use of the app on Apple devices. Google is a third-party beneficiary in relation to your use of the app on Android devices.
  • Language. These terms are written in English. Where we provide a translation, the English version governs in the event of a conflict.
